On Friday, December 9 , 2016 at 10:00 AM, Coastal Dance Company will present a special matinee performance of the all new "Coppélia", a family favorite classic, for school groups.

Be a part of the action as the village girl, Swanhilda, her boyfriend, Franz, an old toymaker, Dr. Coppelius, and the beautiful Coppelia , who sometimes sits on the toy makers balcony, get into some humorous trouble. Witness the grace and beauty of Swanhilda as she vies for Franz’s love, be amused as Franz falls in love mistakenly to a life size doll, and Dr. Coppelius who mistakenly thinks his toy creation comes to life! This presentation of Leo Delibesclassic by Cape Cod’s only pre-professional ballet company provides an excellent opportunity to expose school children to the world of ballet and live theatre.

Atlantic Coast Academy of Dance’s annual winter ballet presentation of the all new "Coppélia" will be widely received by students and teachers alike for the future years to come.
